Oxygen absorbers are used to remove oxygen from within a sealed environment, creating a
nitrogen environment for long-term food storage. They protect dry foods from insect damage
and mould to help preserve product quality.

When used with proper packaging and sealing, the oxygen in the packaging is greatly reduced.

How It Works

Oxygen absorbers are a safe and non-toxic aid that is placed inside the packaged food product therefore removing the need for preservatives and additives. The O-BUSTER can be used along with, or as a replacement to, nitrogen gas flushing and vacuum sealing.

O-BUSTER is an oxygen absorber that uses a controlled oxidation process to eliminate oxygen within sealed packaging. Each sachet contains finely milled iron particles and a small desiccant activates the iron, triggering a natural rusting (oxidation) process.
As the iron oxidizes, it binds with the available oxygen, effectively removing it from the environment.

This process continues until the oxygen is depleted and the sachet is fully saturated. The result: extended product shelf life, prevention of mould and spoilage, prevention of discolouration, and maintained product freshness.
